Puppy application
Thank you for your interest in a La Petite Peluche puppy! We want to make sure that each of our puppies goes to a loving home environment and will be the right companion to your family.
The puppies are born in our home, and we will during the first 8 weeks, provide them the best care, let them develop, socialize and habituate them to family lives, teach them basic manners, all to give them the best start.
From then on you are engaging into 12-15 years of love, fun and care. A puppy needs time, training, and presence of family in a safe, joyful environment. If you work all day or if you are looking for a dog to be outside most of the time, away from humans, this is not the breed for you.
5 steps to adopt your La Petite Peluche puppy
We are a small home breeder with a maximum of one litter per year. Once a litter is announced or born, we will open the litter list. The price for an Australian Bernedoodle in 2026 is €3500 euros. Please note that all our puppies are sold strictly as a pet with a no-breeding contract. We also reserve the right to keep puppies of any litter, to continue our breeding program if required.
Step 1: Fill out the questionnaire
When a litter is announced/confirmed and you are excited about a La Petite Peluche puppy after reading all the information on our website, it is time to complete our online adoption questionnaire (waiting list is closed) in order to get to know you. It is very important to include as much information about your lifestyle and situation. If we have a good feeling about it, we will contact you to have a chat about what you are looking for and when.
Step 2: Litter list
After a positive conversation for both parties, you will have the possibility to put yourself on the waiting list for a puppy from this particular litter. For this we ask a non-refundable fee of €300. This amount will be deducted from the selling price when you purchase a puppy. Should you find a dog elsewhere in the meantime or still want to get off the waiting list, refunds are not possible.
However, if we are not able to sell you a puppy at the age of 8 weeks (for example due to death, illness, or any other reason) the fee will be returned to you.
Step 3: Watch them grow
During the first 8 weeks of their existence, our care and attention is on the puppies and their mother. They really are part of our daily family life. The puppies will learn sights, smells and sounds, will be socialised and handled (ENS) to ensure it will grow up to become a confident and happy dog. In the mean time we try to make as much photo’s and video’s for you to watch them grow and develop. Make sure you follow us on social media. You are also welcome to visit us and our puppies (from 4 weeks old) by appointment.
During this period we will also give you recommendations on things to buy and prepare for, if desired, in order to make sure you are ready to welcome your puppy.
Step 4: Puppy selection & matching
Our focus is to support new owners in choosing a puppy that is most likely to be suited to their home environment and lifestyle, to set both the humans and puppy up for success. We also ask our prospective families to be open to a range of colours, markings and gender of puppies, as we cannot guarantee what nature will give us. Having a preference is absolutely fine and will be taken into account, but if either of these things are non negotiable, we are not the right breeder for you.
Between 6-7 weeks old, we have a very good understanding of the temperaments and personalities of our doodle puppies in order to match the best dog to the best future owners. Puppy matching before this age is not possible.
Remember: there is no temperament difference between male and female Australian Bernedoodles.
Step 5: Time to bring your puppy home!
Between 8-9 weeks old, your puppy will be ready to join your family. We will schedule a day for you to pick up your puppy in person at La Petite Peluche (Pellegrue, Gironde). If you can’t pick up your puppy in this week, we are happy to keep your puppy for 45€ per day after the latest pick-up date until you are available to collect it (maximum 5 days if available). We cannot keep puppies over the age of 10 weeks old.
We recommend to pick up your puppy in the morning, so your puppy has enough time to settle into its new home before bed time. Also make sure that you or a family member will be home (and not working) with the puppy in the first weeks. A puppy needs a lot of attention, care and guidance.
We will always be here for any help, or answer any questions you may have. On the other hand, we would love to be sent updates as and when you are able to!
Our waiting list is closed. All puppies are reserved.
